AB/DL Survey #2 - Siblings
Do you think your siblings affected how you view
diapers and babyhood?
Baby of the Family
- Yes, my old sister has always spoken of when I was little and
how she would change me. I was introduced as her baby brother to
everyone. I
never thought it was wrong to be reliant on others as she and my
mother did most stuff for me.
- No. As I am the youngest I was never around any siblings when
they were babies or wore nappies.
Bedwetting
- Yes. My brother (2 years older) was a bedwetter until he was
twelve. I wet the bed for about a year between the ages of 6 and 7. I
was punished with diapers until I stopped bedwetting, but after that,
my brother was either diapered or wore lined plastic pants over his
underwear to bed.
- Yes, I was and still am a bed wetter, and my
siblings always treated me nice and never teased me.
- Yes,
definitely. I wet the bed and all of my younger brothers made it very
difficult for me.
- No. however I often
shared a bed with a cousin who was a bedwetter, which I'm sure has
something to do with this.
- They made fun of my bed wetting
problems. My sister occasionally diapered me when my parents would get
fed up and put me in diapers again.
- My next three younger siblings were also all bedwetters. We
all wore diapers to bed until we each individually stopped wetting the
bed, some of us later than others.
- When I wet the bed, they made me feel ashamed about wearing,
so I repressed my desires to wear until university. Even now their
presence prevents me from wearing diapers often, as I live at home. It
affected my AB side, because I got used to playing with people around
my age and having fun, and I just want to do that again.
- Possibly, my older brother was a bed wetter and got a lot of
attention because of it
Diapers Available
- Yes, I once saw my much older sister changing a baby's diaper
and grabbed one to see what it was like to wear one. I was about 4 and
already potty trained.
- Yes, since my younger siblings were
in diapers by the time I was self aware, I was able to see how they
were treated, and had access to their supplies.
- In a way yes, nappies and plastic pants were available for a
bit longer.
- Yes, because my older sister babysat a lot so I was always
around diapers.
- when I was young I remember going downstairs
during naptime and asking to be allowed to put on a diaper from my
brother's room. I did not physically need them, but my mom would allow
me to wear them just so I would return to my room.
Exposure
- I think that I developed an appreciation for cloth diapers
due to my younger siblings using them.
- Yes. I think my
brother having diapers had somehow triggered thoughts of how much I
liked diapers when I was little.
- Very possible. My brother
wore Pampers, and I remember being fascinated with them.
- Not
directly. However, the parenting magazines my mother kept in the house
might have. I remember reading articles on bedwetting and
potty-training in the magazines around the ages of 10-12 or 13, and
being strangely interested in the subjects.
Force
- Yes, I was forced into diapers by my older brother when I was
6 years old, and made to wear nothing but a tee shirt, and diaper all
day, and that is how I believe I became a diaper lover.
Jealousy
- I believe I felt some jealousy. When I was 5, my brother was
still in diapers (nappies) and I remember feeling jealous and the feeling
to want to wear them, I would always feel the diapers when my parents
were not looking and I believe on 1 occasion I took one to take upstairs
to try on. I can't remember if I got caught. Once he was out of
diapers I cant remember much about my feelings for them until I was
about 13-14.
- When my new neighbors moved in when I was young, they had a
little
baby. All the attention from my sisters went from me to the neighbor
baby, so I think that played a part.
- Could be possible, though
I have a hard time picturing any direct link. However having a younger
bro by 3 years, I think it's possible there could of been jealousy of
him wearing diapers after I had just gotten out of them, don't know
though. My interest in them is as early as I can remember which is about
age 4.
- Yes, my brother wore 24/7 until he was about 8, then
for another 3 years at night. He also has learning difficulties and
autism, coming from a single parent family meant that I did not always
get the attention off of my mother I wanted, but she is a really good
mom.
- I was fascinated by seeing my younger
sister in diapers, especially after she was old enough to toddle
around. I was also a bit jealous because she didn't have to stop
playing to go pee or poop.
- Possibly. Due to my older sister's jealousy of me as a
baby I was
potty-trained and weaned off a bottle earlier than my other sisters
were.
No Effect
- No. I don't remember showing an interest in my
brother's diapers.
- To put it simply, no. There's only a year
and a half difference between myself and my sibling, so we spent time
sharing infant and toddler experiences. However nothing that I can
remember was related to diapers.
- No, they were half-sisters and I was already developing an
interest in wetting and messing underwear prior to their birth.
- My big sis does not know about this kinda stuff, so I think
that is a no.
- I can't say I think so, as I never really noticed
the diapered state of my younger siblings. At least I don't remember
noticing.
- No!
- No. Seeing my baby sisters in diapers
meant nothing to me.
- I don't really think this has ever really had an effect. Was
never a "baby" brother, and I don't ever remember my brother being in
diapers.
- I do believe that they have had some affect on the subject.
- No, my sister was adopted after I started exploring this.
- No, not in any cognizant way.
Only Child
- I'm an Only Child
- No siblings
- Only child, so obviously not.
Playing House
- Probably, my sisters and I diapered each
other frequently in play as small children.
- Definitely yes -
the first diaper I tried since I was potty trained was the one my mum
put on me for a joke while changing my little sister, and since then I
kept stealing some diapers from her stash until she was potty trained
too.
- Don't think so. Although when playing house I was always
the baby. Never dressed the part or anything that I remember.
- Maybe,
growing up with three older sisters, I remember playing "house" and my
oldest sister would be the mom and I would be the baby.
Pressure/Toilet Training
- Yes. Three younger siblings all one year apart so lots of
pressure to get me out of diapers.
- I do, yes. I was the
middle child, and raised with the instruction that my younger brother
was "my baby" (this was because my mother was struggling with cancer
and wanted all of us children to be responsible for each other). I felt
like I was taught early on to be very responsible, while still being
old enough that my older sister was not very responsible for me. I had
a lot of pressure, and as the second oldest child, was responsible for
a lot, and had to do quite a bit.
- Yes to a small degree. When she was born, it made my
parents rush potty training me, trying to get it over with quicker
than most parents would, so they would not have two kids in diapers. So
I feel that the potty training was done quickly, carelessly, and
selfishly.
- Yes. Even though my brothers were younger, I always seemed to
have trouble related to potty training, so I started associated diapers
with being a girl.
Privacy
- Yes and no. I have an older brother of two years and he
doesn't know about my AB/DL side, despite having to share a room with
him. Rather, it's made me value my privacy much more. Being extra
cautious when browsing through AB/DL websites or getting padded when
home alone and having to clean up more thoroughly is one way my sibling
has affected my experiences of diapers and babyhood, but not my view of
it per say.
- Not having siblings did allow for some extra
privacy that I wouldn't have had otherwise.
